What is Browser Use?
Browser Use makes AI agents that operate a web browser to complete tasks such as filling in forms, extracting data, logging in and running tests. It also rents out cloud browser infrastructure to developers who want to run their own agents. The core browser-use library is open source under the MIT license and installs with uv add browser-use.
Developers connect to the hosted browsers through Playwright or Puppeteer over CDP. The hosted browsers include proxies, CAPTCHA solving and anti-detect browsers. Browser Use also offers an MCP server, browsers for coding agents like Claude Code, Codex and Cursor, and Browser Harness, an open-source tool that gives coding agents access to your real Chrome.
Billing is pay-as-you-go with prepaid credits, and there is no subscription. The product is aimed at developers and AI teams building automation, scraping or voice agents. For enterprises, the company lists SOC 2 Type II, HIPAA compliance, zero data retention and an on-prem option.
